PBMA’S H. V. Desai Eye Hospital is a project of Poona Blind Men’s Association. It is a center committed to socio economic rehabilitation of blind since last 50 years. The hospital started functioning at a small place in the PBMA’S Blind Women Hostel since 1997.In the first year we performed 2000 lens implant surgeries and reached upto 4000 surgeries by year 1999. We shifted to our new hospital building of 44000 sq feet on 5-acre land in Jan 2000. The hospital is located at Survey no. 93,tarawade wasti, Mohammad wadi, Hadapsar, Pune.
Since then the H. V. Desai Eye Hospital is working towards eliminating needless blindness by providing comprehensive eye care service at affordable cost and made available to all poor and underpriviledged class.
