Tele-Ophthalmology

i2i CARE Tele-Ophthalmology Solution is a part of the i2i CARE product line of Telemedicine suite of solutions. H. V. Desai Eye Hospital recently acquired this software from I2icare Telesolutions. It provides a secure; server based clinical exchange (hub) for medical data and images of existing DICOM & non-DICOM modalities at PBMA’S H. V. Desai Eye Hospital, Pune. Using the wide area network, remote workstations (spokes) at Desai Eye Hospital centers in Pune connected to provide secure, fast, bi-directional exchange of medical information for specialist Ophthalmologist to report, efficient storage, and overall work flow automation for Tele-Ophthalmology.

This software helps in uploading the fundus images on remote server (located in Houston, USA). With special viewer software on iphone, the images can be viewed instantly and report can be send to the uploading locations with few minutes. This software is being used in “ROP project” right now. Advantage is that it saves physician time and patients, located in remote places can have reports after the images are seen by specialist on iphone.
