Award & Achievements

Year 2008

We are extremely proud to inform that the day 10 June every year is celebrated as Dr.Bhalchandra Day by Government of Maharashtra. Dr. Bhalchandra was a renowned eye surgeon and great human being. On this day work in this field done by institutions and individuals is recognized by Government of Maharashtra, Minister of health. Here we recognized as:
1. The institute having done maximum cataract surgeries in year 2008
2. The institute having done maximum keratoplasty in Maharashtra.

Shri. N. P. Pandya & Col. M. Deshpande attended the function. This encouragement and recognition by Government of Maharashtra has not only encouraged us but added responsibility on us to do still better.

Awards - Year 2007

Eye Bank, H. V. Desai Eye Hospital has been awarded a prize by Govt. of Maharashtra for the best Eye Bank in Pune. The felicitation is at Arogya Bhavan, Mumbai on 5/9/2007 at 11:00 am. The function will be attended by Mr. N. P. Pandya, Dr. Deshpande & Dr. Mrs. Gogate

Mr. N. P. Pandya was awarded for individual contribution in the field of community eye care. He received the award from Mr. V. K. Subburaj, IAS, (Health Secretary, Government of Tamilnadu on 25 Nov 2007 at Sankara Eye Centre, Coimbatore.

Dr. (Mrs) Sucheta Kulkarni was awarded J.P Mahashabde award for her paper presentation in AIOS in Feb 07 in Hyderabad. The paper is also selected as Indian Paper in IOS conference in Hongkong in 2008.
