The department of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at H. V. Desai Eye Hospital, Pune is a very well established, modern facility that is dedicated to the comprehensive care of children's eyes and to the alleviation of problems caused by adult strabismus. Children's eye problems range from routine examinations to the diagnosis and management of such problems as amblyopia (lazy eye), nasolacrimal duct obstruction (blocked tear ducts), cataracts, glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, retinoblastoma, and strabismus (eye misalignment). Adult strabismus may take the form of a long-standing squint (crossing problem) of large angle with few or no symptoms, or a recently acquired misalignment of any amount but with disabling effects.

Dr. Nikhil Rishikeshi, is a Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist dedicated to comprehensive eye care for children and has completed a long-term fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology. He has also trained at the prestigious R. P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences ( A.I.I.M.S.) .He is a pediatric surgeon proficient in cataracts, squint with a special interest in special forms of strabismus and nystagmus surgeries.

Dr.Sudhir Taras is a formally trained Pediatric Orthoptist and has completed his training at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai. He is a devoted member of the team and is totally dedicated to eye problems in children especially, strabismus.
