1. What is glaucoma?
Ans- Glaucoma is a disease whereby there is raise in IOP which there is raise in IOP which causes damage to optic nerve and affects our field of vision. The vision loss is permanent and cannot be reversed.

2. Why does it occur?
Ans- The raise in IOP can be due to variety in IOP can be due to variety of reasons i.e. hereditary 2% hypertension, diabetes, high power minus glasses., injury to eye.

3. Does watching excess T.V./strain streets cause it?
Ans- No.

A full filled glaucoma department has been functional from 2002 December. Glaucoma is a slowly progressive disease of the optic nerve which may be lead to considerable visual impairment. Most commonly it is due to a raised pressure within the eye.
Here, at HVDEH, a team of 2 glaucoma consultants work together towards diagnosing and treating this silent but dreaded problem. All state of art equipment is available for diagnosis various types of glaucoma. YAG laser treatment; Medical and surgical treatment for glaucoma is carried out in our hospital.
