PBMA's Kantalaxmi Shah Eye Hospital, in Nandurbar established in 2007 and is operated and managed by the team of experts from The Poona Blind Men's Association. This hospital is well known for providing free cataract surgeries and excellent eye care services across the tribal areas in northern districts of Maharashtra. This hospital is has 50-bed patient ward, a modular operation theatres, and a well-equipped outpatient department (OPD) with advanced medical tools such as a YAG laser machine, perimeter, IOL master, slit lamps, and auto refractometers.
Our Impact
Each year, approximately 5,000 to 6,000 cataract surgeries are performed free of cost, along with affordable phacoemulsification procedures.

Morning OPD: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Evening OPD: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Patient Guidelines & Services
- Walk-in appointments are seen on a first come first serve basis, on all working days
- Patients are allowed to bring only one attendant
- Children below 15 years of age are not allowed unless they are patients themselves
- A normal complete, eye examination will take 2-3 hours, including the waiting period.
- After the eye examination, doctors may suggest examination by other specialists, which may take few hours more.
